The collection consists mainly of accounts and receipts from Sydney tradesmen, cheques, promissory notes and bills of exchange, with some manuscript letters, printed programmes etc. Printed pages of Joseph Fowles' 'Sydney in 1848' are mounted throughout the volume. There are a number of manuscripts connected with Richard Jones, William Edward Riley, George Cavanagh, Sir Stuart Alexander Donaldson and William Astley.

Includes sketches of buildings.
