Binder's title: 'Voyage of the French Corvette L'Heroine - original manuscript journal of the cruise in the Southern Seas'.
The author was secretary to the Lieutenant of the corvette for the voyage. - Scope and ContentCommences at Brest early in May 1844. Visits ports mostly in North and South America and islands of the Pacific. Describes Valparaiso, San Lorenzo, Callao and Lima in some detail, and fighting between the French and Tahitians, 19 February-17 October 1846 in Tahiti over the exile of Queen Pomare.
