William Strutt, 1825-1915, arrived in Australia in 1850, and was an early member of the Victorian Academy of Fine Arts, the Melbourne School of Art and The Victorian Society of Artists. In 1862 he returned to London where he became a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy
