Harriet Marquet Blaxland was Lady Dowling's mother. Vincent Francis Woodcock and James Sheen Dowling were his two sons by a previous marriage. The latter was a District Court Judge in New South Wales. James Arthur Dowling, the son of James Sheen Dowling was a solicitor in New South Wales
