    Rusden, born in England in 1819, came to Sydney at the age of 15. He worked on the land, became a Victorian public servant and was finally appointed clerk of the Legislative Council, retiring in 1881. After a trip to England he died in Melbourne in 1903. He published mostly historical works, some poetry and a commentary on Shakespeare

    Published at Maitland, N.S.W., in 1851 under pseudonym 'Yittadairn', printer R. Jones. Copy at DSM/A821/R. A London edition was published by Petherick in 1891
