Charles George Alfred Robertson, nephew of Thomas Campbell Robertson, Lieutenant Governor of the North West Provinces of India, 1840-1843, was admitted to the Lunatic Asylum in New Norfolk in 1842 - Scope and ContentShort covering letters to Matthew Forster, Chief Police Magistrate, enclosing essays of a disconnected and rambling nature on various topical subjects with suggestions for solving the problems. Subjects of essays include 'assignment of female prisoners', 'useful recreations', 'insolvencies' and 'control over the human passions'. Also includes one letter to Governor Gipps
