The Dismissal (XV / 111) titled by Deutscher and Hackett
  • General note

Referring to The Dismissal (XV/111), Lloyd Rees wrote in his autobiography "my second essay into political cartooning was a vicious affair - an anti-Kerr, large watercolour drawing for a pro-Whitlam exhibition at the Hogarth Gallery, Paddington, during the election campaign following Mr Whitlam's dismissal...It is interesting to note that the drawing was purchased and taken to Canada".
