    Peter Briscoe, civilian, came from Revesby, England and was one of eight staff members for Sir Joseph Banks on board the ship Endeavour. His position was servant to Banks.

    The cover title is obliterated: 'The account of Mr. Robert Haswhitle Senior Church Warden of the Parish of Saint James Westminster for the year 1767'.

    LOG AND JOURNAL
    The journal is mainly a sailing and weather record, although there are descriptions of the coasts of New Zealand and New Holland, in particular Queen Charlotte Sound, Dromedary Bay and Stingray Bay, and remarks of the expedition's relations with the Maoris. The journal ends in the latitude 30 degrees 22 south during the ship's passage along the coast of New Holland
