Bound in vellum. Spine title 'T. H. v. Honert de Stylo N. T. Graeco' in ink. '1773' in ink on both covers

Copies of poems by various authors, and a dialogue held in the Sheldonian Theatre, 1773. The date '1773' appears on both covers in two different styles, and on page 136 also. Inside front cover is written 'R. Pusey' (ink) and W.. J. Finne? Manor Farm Toot Balden' (pencil) both considerably erased. Note inside back cover 'This Book Sold to Me by Mr Smith Abingdon & Warranted to be Written by Captain Cook R. Pusey Abingdon Berks 1854' (ink)

This volume was attributed to Cook, on account of the note written inside back cover, and a passing resemblance to Cook's hand. Although two hand may have written the manuscript. neither of them is Cook's. The poem on page 201 whose date (1780) is partly erased, was copied from the Gentleman's Magazine of June 1780. Cook died in 1779.
