    Vivien Leigh (1913-1967), British actress best known for playing Scarlett O'Hara in the Hollywood film 'Gone with the Wind' (1939), visited Australia in 1948 with her then husband Laurence Olivier. Their six-month tour of Australia and New Zealand was to raise funds for the Old Vic Theatre.

    A one-page letter typed on Lennon's Hotel Brisbane letterhead signed by Vivien Leigh. Leigh thanks Miss Margaret Clancy of Lindfield for her gifts during their stay in Sydney. She also mentions Suzanne (her daughter with first husband Leigh Holman).
