    William Dugald Campbell, surveyor, was in New Zealand where, between 1876 and 1882, he published material on surveying. In 1886 he was appointed a licensed surveyor in New South Wales where he continued publishing. Between 1906 and 1923, while in Western Australia, he published further material. Besides surveying, his writings included papers on the ethnology of Australian Aborigines, which were published by learned societies.
