    Certificates on behalf of James Backhouse and George Washington Walker; and communications to, and minutes of the Van Diemen's Land yearly meeting of Friends, respecting their labours: also some other epistles, and letters from 1830 to 1843.

    Mainly in the hand of James Backhouse. Includes lists of persons professing with friends in 1840 in Tasmania, Port Phillip, New South Wales and Norfolk Island. The certificates on behalf of J. Backhouse and G.W. Walker and an epistle to persons attending the meetings of Friends in Sydney, dated from Cape Town, South Africa, 17 September 1840, are printed in 'A narrative of visit to the Australian colonies by J. Backhouse' published in 1843.
