Arthur Henry Adams, poet and writer, 1872-1936, was born in New Zealand. In 1898, he went to Australia as literary secretary to J.C. Williamson, and wrote a pantomime. In 1899, his 'Maoriland and other verses' was published in Sydney. He was newspaper correspondent during the Boxer Rebellion in China. After visiting London 1900-1902 he returned to New Zealand where he worked on the New Zealand Times. From 1906 to 1909, he was editor of the Red Page of the Bulletin.
