  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Arthur Henry Adams, poet and writer, 1872-1936, was born in New Zealand. In 1898, he went to Australia as literary secretary to J.C. Williamson, and wrote a pantomime. In 1899, his 'Maoriland and other verses' was published in Sydney. He was newspaper correspondent during the Boxer Rebellion in China. After visiting London 1900-1902 he returned to New Zealand where he worked on the New Zealand Times. From 1906 to 1909, he was editor of the Red Page of the Bulletin. He also published some light fiction under the names Henry James James and James James.
