  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Australian Hymn Book Committee began its work in 1968. Professor Wesley Milgate, a Methodist, was appointed Executive Editor for the Australian Hymn Book, the first Australian ecumenical hymnal published in 1977. He compiled its companion, Songs of the People of God (1982).

    Canon Lawrence Bartlett was Executive Secretary of the Australian Hymn Book Committee and its chief Anglican representative.
