The James Reid Family settled at Tenterfield, N.S.W. in 1854. John H. Reid, a son was early concerned with the tin industry. He managed Christian Claim at Tenterfield, 1869-1870, and founded the Glen Smelting Co. in 1874. He was too, Managing Director of the Adeline Gold Mine at Drake, N.S.W., 1886 of which David Moses was Chairman of Directors, and a partner of the Irvinebank Mining Co., Queensland - Description source
