Andrew Sinclair, ca. 1796-1861, was Colonial Secretary of New Zealand from 1844 to 1856 - Scope and ContentA description of a tour of inspection of the settlements along the rivers, in which he remarks on the settlers, schools, agriculture, cottage industries and the selling of alcohol to the Maoris. Reference is also made to the Chief Justice Sir William Martin and his wife who were travelling on the river at the same time
