    Incomplete, undated and unsigned. Sturt arrived back in Adelaide in January 1846. He corresponded over a long period with George Macleay; extracts from many of these letters are to be found in the Life of Charles Sturt. Extracts from letter to Macleay, 8 February 1846, reproduced on page 260 et seq. differ slightly from this letter
