Richard Fitzgerald was transported to Australia in 1791 and became successful in the agricultural industry. One of his properties 'Dabee' near Rylstone has stayed in the possession of his descendants, the Evans family.

The Hon. Beryl Evans (1922-2006) was a Member of the NSW Legislative Council from 1984 to 1995.

Fitzgerald and Evans family further papers, ca. 1847-1995. The collection comprises ledgers, sheep and wool clip records, female servants’ records, and correspondence concerning the ‘Dabee’ and ‘Mamre’ properties. Also included are the diaries of the Hon. Beryl Evans when she was a Member of the NSW Legislative Council, 1984-1995.
