- Scope and ContentJoseph Raven describes sailing from Liverpool to Melbourne in 1851, travelling to Sydney then to the Bagan Bagan station near Jugiong, New South Wales where he worked for two years. He then worked as a drover and station manager in the Wellington district before moving stock to Queensland in 1860 to take out a lease on the Stainburn Downs station. In 1867 he drove 7,000 sheep to Obley, N.S.W. and visited Sydney. He describes hold-ups by bushrangers and attacks on stockmen and stock by aboriginals.
