    Frenchman Francois Girard arrived in Sydney on the convict transport Agamemnon on 22 Sept. 1820. He married Mary Hayes, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Hayes on 12 Sept. 1824. He became known as Francis and died at Branga Park Station, Walcha in 1859.

  • Scope and Content
    Hayes' letter of 2 November 1802 comments on the dissolute state of the colony, those of 20 May 1814 and 23 December 1816 on prices and commerce and those of 4 April, 8 December 1817 and 16 May 1818 refer to the estate of John Reddington. There are many references to the Roman Catholic Church in New South Wales
