Approximately 1300 prints - etchings, woodcuts, drawings and watercolours - various sizes

"The prominent collector of Australiana, William Dixson, had come to admire Lionel's etchings as early as 1918. His research, brought them even closer. He started to commission Lionel to make etchings of places of historic importance and others after old photographs paying him 30 [pounds] for each edition. Eventually he bought an impression of every available Lionel Lindsay etching and made a permanent arrangement to buy the first print of every edition, as well as an impression of each working state. When Lionel turned to wood engraving he extended the arrangement to include the new medium."

In this collection many of Lindsay's etchings are followed right through from the trial "pull", to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd states, then to print nos. 1 and 2.
