    Henry Davy and Miss Ruffy were passengers on the barque Auriga (Captain F. E. Chalmers) which sailed from London on 7 August 1834 bound for Sydney via Hobart Town. It arrived in Hobart on 29 November 1834 where Miss Ruffy disembarked while Mr Davy continued on to Sydney arriving on 18 December 1834
  • Scope and Content
    A shipboard journal composed of extracts from the captain's journal , original poetry and prose, letters to the editor and advertisements. The journal also contains several enclosures including copper bookplate depicting the crest of John Thomas Chalmers together with two watercolours of his coat of arms; watercolour of Booby Island, Torres Strait, ca. 1834; page from the log of the Pearl (?) with a map of the Newfoundland coast, 1847
