    James Graham, 1819-1898, was born in Ireland and later lived in Cupar, Fifeshire. He emigrated to Australia on the Alfred, arriving in Sydney on 7 January 1839 and almost immediately moved to Melbourne. He became a prominent member of the Victorian commercial world and a member of the Legislative Council
