    Sir Samuel Davenport, 1818-1906, pioneer and businessman, settled at Beaumont, near Adelaide, South Australia, in 1842. He was a member of the Legislative Council, 1846-1847, 1855-1866. His father, George Davenport, 1782-1846, and his elder brother, John Marriott Davenport, 18-- -1882, remained in England
