  Charles Frederick Cox served in the Boer War, first with the NSW Lancers and then with 3 NSW Mounted Rifles and with the 6th Light Horse Regiment at Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine and Syria, 1915-1918. Cox returned to Australia in March 1919 and in 1920 was elected to the Senate

  Includes drafts of replies to some letters by Major General Cox, two World War I messages and signals from the Anzac Mounted Division, Gallipoli campaign, 1915, newspaper articles and photographs of ceremonies unveiling war monuments and memorials for World War I soldiers, and correspondence and newscuttings regarding the Australian Women's Auxiliary for Service Overseas, 1941
