    The Colonial Bishoprics' Fund was founded 1 June 1841, the first secretary being Reveran E. Hawkins, also secretary of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. In 1959 the name was changed to the Overseas Bishoprics' Fund

    b. Letters (5), 1860-1861, from Charles John Abraham, Bishop of Wellington, to E. Hawkins, mainly relating to the Maori War, a visitation to Taranaki and the general attitude of the European settlers towards the Maoris as well as reporting on church affairs. Xerox copies of Manuscript.
