Frederick Garling, 1775-1848, arrived in New South Wales, 1815 and held the position of Crown Solicitor, 1816-1824, Clerk of Peace, 1824-1839, and Crown Prosecutor, 1830-1837. His son, Frederick Garling, 1806-1873, married Elizabeth Ward in 1829
