  • Scope and Content
    Levey, a Jewish convict, arrived in New South Wales in 1815. After emancipation in 1819, he became a successful merchant, where his influence was felt in all branches of commerce in the colony, especially during the years 1822-1826. He returned to England in 1826, where he later financed Thomas Peel in the settlement of Western Australia
