    Sister Gwen Shaw, a missionary sister from 1925, was trained in London and taught in the Solomon Islands, 1929-1951, at the Anglican Melanesian Mission of the Sisters of the Cross. She later joined the Roman Catholic Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary. For her publications, she used the pseudonym Gwen Cross. Sister Veronica of the Cross was at the Melanesian Mission
