    The Anzac War Relief Fund was formed in 1940, and operated by a small group of Australians and New Zealanders living in New York. During World War II nearly a million dollars in cash and goods were donated by the American public for the welfare of the Australian and New Zealand men in the battle areas. From 1943 the Fund also provided for women in the armed services. The Fund ceased operations September 1945.
