"Lucasville was the next station after Emu Plains on the Western Line and according to railway guides c. 1890 was a siding with no township. The house in these photos may be that of Hon. John Lucas (see portrait at P3) who may be the man witht the watch chain. He was Minister for Mines 1875-7 in Robertson's government and publicised the Jenolan Caves one of which is named after him Lucas Cave. Only residence which could be found in ML was Pyrmont Bridge Road, Camperdown. Other figures could not be identified July 1956. Seated man may be Sir John See?" -- in pencil on the reverse of a copy of this photograph at SPF/1993
