    William Barker Boydell, 1818-1878, arrived in Sydney on 2 June 1836 on the ship Camden. he purchased an estate on the Allyn River, a branch of the Paterson River. He called the estate 'Caergurle' and engaged in agriculture and viticulture. In 1844 he married Mary Phoebe, daughter of William Grant Broughton, first Church of England Bishop of Australia. His elder brother Charles also settled in New South Wales.
    Mary Phoebe Boydell nee Broughton arrived in Australia in 1829. She returned to England in 1834.
