J. S. King practised as an architect for a time and then became an Anglican clergyman. In January 1971, when both men were retired (Kinsey as an architect), they agreed jointly to donate their field books and drawings of Burdekin House and St John's Church, Parramatta, to the Mitchell Library (see also PXA 105 and PXD 76).
