  • Scope and Content
    Mourning ring inscribed Geo. Davidson, OB 26 Sept. 1776. AE 62.
    1 gold ring with enamelled inscription around the edge with a cameo inset with a funerary urn design on porcelain with a glass cover over it ; 13 mm. diameter - in original box with hinged lid and brass hook clasp.

    Mourning ring inscribed Alice Davidson, OB 14 Feb. 1808. AE 75.
    1 gold ring with inscription inside the edge with three black strips around the outside ; in original box with hinged lid and brass hook clasp.

    Mourning brooch of plaited hair. Oval shaped, glass face surrounded with pearls, and brass and black design. Hair is brown and gold on the front and back of brooch. Clasp pin is missing. 3.5 x 4.5 cm. No date.

    Brass pocket barometer. 5 cm. in diameter x 2 cm. in depth. Glass face, with loop for chain. Maker J. Pitkin, London. No date.

    Medal 1854. N.S.W. Paris Exhibition Commissiones, 1854. Bronze ; diameter 7.3 cm.

    Obverse: Three female figures representing France, Great Britain and Australia; Australia is being presented to France by Great Britain.
    Legend: 'Hic Lauri Dulcior Usus. L. C. Wyon F[ecit] MDCCCLV.
    Reverse: Five scenes of Australian life.
    Legend: 'Products of New South Wales. Sydney 1854. L. C. W. [fecit].
    Medals were awarded in Sydney by the Commissioners when items were displayed at the Australian Museum prior to being sent to Paris.
    Medal is is brown leather case, lined in navy velvet and cream satin. 10 x 10 cm.
