Kelburne Ernest Edge was born in Concord, NSW, in 1869, a son of Alexander Ernest Edge. Known by his second name, Ernest was well travelled, as he arrived back in Sydney from London in Mar 1891, just a few months before he would have come to Launceston for the Tasmanian Exhibition. He returned to Sydney via Melbourne in Nov 1892 on the ship Elingamite. In 1896 Ernest married Hilda Smith of St Leonards, NSW. In 1901 he sailed again for London via the USA. It is not known when he died; his wife died in NSW in 1970.
