Ole Bull (1810-1880) was a Norwegian violinist, composer and nationalist, known for his unique performance method and for starting a short-lived utopian community called New Norway, or Oleana, in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He was a vital influence upon and patron of dramatists Henrik Ibsen and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and composer Edvard Grieg.

Roberto Hazon (1854-1920) was a conductor and music teacher. He came to Australia from Italy in 1886. In 1889 he became conductor of the (Royal) Sydney Philharmonic Society and in 1891 he founded the Sydney Amateur Orchestral Society.

Antonia Dolores (c1864-) was a French soprano who toured Australia in 1896, and again in 1901 when she sang at the Gala Concert for the Inauguration of the Commonwealth. She toured Australia several times after 1906, the Australian audiences making her welcome each time.
