Merrilla is one of Goulburn’s iconic pioneer family homestead properties. Since the time of its original grant in the 1830s until 1984, when it was sold in subdivision, 'Merrilla' was a station property held by successive generations of the Chisholm family. It formed part of that family’s vast district landholdings, which at one time encompassed some 40,000 hectares stretching from Mummel, west of Goulburn, to Collector.
