  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Sir David Gilbert Ferguson (1861-1978) was a judge of the Supreme Court of NSW. He had three sons who were all educated at Sydney Grammar School and St Andrew's College, University of Sydney.

    His eldest son, Bernard Hall Ferguson, was studying law when he died in 1912.

    His second son, Arthur Gardere Ferguson (1895-1916), a captain in the 20th battalion, A.I.F., was killed in action in 1916 in France, after serving at Gallipoli and in Egypt.

    His third son, Keith Aubrey Ferguson (1895-1978), served as an infantry officer in France where he was severely wounded. After returning to Australia he completed his law studies and was admitted to the bar in 1922. He was appointed a Supreme Court judge in 1955.
