  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Murawina was a multi-purpose Aboriginal education organisation in Sydney, which grew from a breakfast program that a group of Redfern women began in February 1972.

The children went on regular excursions in the school's own minibus, even going to Stradbroke Island in 1974. In 1978 the Murawina Readers, a series of reading texts oriented towards the experience of urban Aboriginal children, were produced in cooperation with Macquarie University.
