Charlotte May Wright, nee Mackenzie, 1854-1929, was born in Richmond Vale, Hunter district, NSW.
George Wyndham, 1801-1870, and his wife Margaret May nee De Geai, grandparents of Charlotte May Wright, emigrated from England in 1827. They brought with them cattle and sheep and established a station, Dalwood, in the Hunter district, NSW.
Their daughter, Weeta, married Arthur Mackenzie in 1851 and they later settled in Dalwood where their daughter Charlotte May was raised.
In 1872 Charlotte May married Albert Wright and in the same year they setled at Nulalbin, Dawson River, Queensland. From 1885 the family lived on a station at Wongwibinda, formerly Kangaroo Hills, New England Region, NSW. She managed the station by herself when her husband died in 1890.
