Black & white photograph of a pencil and watercolour sketch. Original measuring 20.5 x 14 cm within oval mount ; framed 35 x 28.5 cm.
Original is signed and dated 'W. Nicholas 1853' in pencil at bottom right. Costume does not appear to coincide with the date, relating more to the 1830s-1840s. Titled in ballpoint on verso of original 'Alice Simpson Born 16 Nov. 1837 Baptised St. James, 29 June 1857 Died'.
Notes in pencil following this inscription transcribed and placed at PXn 521.

Original is unsigned, but is in the style of William Nicholas. Undated ; dated approximately from the date of Nicholas's death. Untitled. Pencil note on verso of original reads: 'Watermark on paper is J. Whatman 1847'.
