  • Attributions / conjectures

PXA 1372: A note by Henrietta Rose accompanying the photographs states: "Two of Daniel Giles Rose's daughters married & came to Sydney. Both had children & both, I think, are buried at Petersham. The photos, being taken by a Sydney photographer, are evidently of one of them & children." This note is evidently in reference to three carte-de-visite portraits by William Bradley, Sydney, of a woman and two infants. On the back of the woman's portrait, Henrietta Rose has tentatively identified her in an inscription which reads "Query? Helen, daughter of Fred Rose - Helen married George Davis & was buried at Petersham." (note placed on ML file).

ML 458: Possibly George Daniel Rose, based on resemblance, the period of the photograph and the age of the subject in relation to G. D. Rose's year of birth (1857).
