    Alec Broughton Doyle was born at Scone, N.S.W. in 1888. He entered the Royal Australian Navy in 1912 and was Engineer Oficer on the H.M.A.S. Parramatta, 1914. He was Engineer Manager at Garden Island dockyard 1933-1942, Director of Engineering (Naval), 1942-1943 and 3rd Naval Member of the Australasian Naval Board and Chief of Construction, 1943-1948
