  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frederick E. Lawrence married Louisa nee Brandt in 1890. Their daughter was Reveda (Veda) Louisa Oatley, whose son was Lawrence Lister Oatley.

    Albert Charles Brandt established a lighting business in 1878 with his brothers in Sydney and Melbourne. This business still operates in 2013.

    11. Autograph book. Inscribed with "To Veda with love from Millie for 28/3/15; Veda Lawrence 48 Cowles Road Mosman". Signatures and inscriptions from several people dated 1915; 1934, and 1939.

    12. Ladies Chinese folded fan. Wooden, cloth covered guard/handle, metal pivot and clasp, brown linen fan with pale blue spots, mid 19th century. Opened length 50 cm.

    13. Metal disc, "Presented to Mr. Frederick E. Lawrence, on the occasion of his marriage by his fellow employees - Federal Emporium - August 25th 1890". 12 x 2.5 cm.
