  • Signatures / Inscriptions

    The work is unsigned; inscribed in ink beneath image 'R. Terry Sen. with Frederick's love [?]/Sydney 13th Jan. 1855', was compared with signature of F.C. Terry.

    An inscription in pencil on the reverse side of the mount 'Self-portrait (pen and ink) F. Terry - Australian Artist' is in the same hand as that recording presentation of the work to the Mitchell Library, and is probably based on information provided by the donor.
