In the early 1950's Freeman Studios printed a selection of their cartes de visite glass negatives for display. Soon after there was a fire next door to their studio and some of their negatives were lost, including some of the negatives they had printed.
In February 1954 Freeman Studios presented their display prints to the Mitchell Library.

This selection of Freeman display prints comprises 355 photographic portraits, chiefly ca. 1875-1880 including copies of earlier photographs dating from 186-.
The portraits are arranged alphabetically by surname. Numbers in parenthesis refer to the original Freeman negative numbers; negative numbers with the prefix “ON 6” are held in the Freeman Studio negative collection, Mitchell Library.
