Eric Leo Susman of Mosman, Sydney was an 18 year old undergraduate at Sydney University when he enlisted with the A.I.F. 13th Battalion, 14 Sept. 1914. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A38 Ulysses, 22 Dec. 1914. He was wounded in action at Gallipoli, 2 May 1915, transferred to the 45th Battalion Mar. 1916 and returned to Australia on the Armadale to complete his medical studies, 21 May 1916
