A note below pins, written in ink in Sir William Dixson's hand reads: These pins were found amongst a pile of criminal proceedings documents that had been eaten by rats. the documents were dated Jany & Feby [ie. January and February] 1788 W[?] D 7.12.1917'. Above pins in pencil '1788 Jany-Feby'. A small blue envelope with date in pencil 'Oct 11/18 [?]', has three pins attached. Accompanying envelope bears the note in pencil: 'Old pins from NSW Documents prior to 1800 obtained by WD from Supreme Court Records'. - Scope and ContentWhite sheet of paper with seven sets of four pins, each set of varying length and thickness.
