    Medal shows head of Queen Victoria, with coronet and hair knotted; on lower edge of truncated neck is 'W. Wyon'; around edge is 'Armis Exposcere Pacem' and at bottom 'China 1842'. Around outer rim is 'ASSIST. SURGEON WILSON RAMSAY'. Medal is on a bar and green ribbon.
