  • Conservation note

    The sword is rusted and corroded. A label with it reads 'Brought to Australia by Lieutenant Wm. Lawson of the New South Wales Corps in 1800. Supposed to have been buried by him in a slab in the wall at Veteran Hall Prospect on his retirement from the military in 1824, and was not located until 1929 when Veteran Hall was demolished thus having remained there for 105 years'. Sword was consolidated in 1983 and report is available.
